Ingolf Turban gives a benefit concert in Planegg – district of Munich

When the violinist Ingolf Turban was first concertmaster of the Munich Philharmonic in the 1980s, the conductor Sergiu Celibidache is said to have underscored his appreciation with the following quip: “I’m Celi and you’re Turbi.” Well, Turban, who was born in Munich in 1964 and lives in the Stockdorf district of Gauting, left the orchestra again after a few years, became a busy and internationally recognized solo artist and later became a professor at various music schools. This Sunday, May 22nd, the renowned violinist and the pianist Tomoko Sawallisch from Japan will be giving a benefit concert at the Kupferhaus Planegg, starting at 7 p.m. “Hellishly virtuosic and heavenly beautiful” is how the 58-year-old captioned the program for this evening. Works by Schubert, Beethoven, Franck and Pablo de Sarasate will be heard.

The organizer of the concert is the Rotary Club Gauting-Würmtal, in cooperation with Kulturforum Planegg. Tickets in advance are available from, among others, www.muenchenticket.dein the Planegg town hall and also at the box office.
