Infrastructure in Germany: dilapidated bridges, ruined train stations – a status report – Culture

Dilapidated bridges, ruined train stations, broken roads, missing routes – and: no network. Latest estimates from the Republic of the Retirees.

Latest news from the weekend. First something positive for pedestrians, at the same time something annoying for cyclists. In Karstädt, Prignitz district in Brandenburg, a cycle path disappeared overnight. According to North Courier “heated tempers” are now the result. After work on the road through the town, there is no longer a combined footpath and cycle path. The building authority explains this with the fact that the combined path is a few centimeters short of width according to the new rules of the “State Road Authority” so that “two cyclists can meet”. Therefore, only pedestrians are allowed, whether they meet or not.
