As a native of Gelsenkirchen, he was not confronted with the importance of the first Wiesn Saturday for the city and the club for most of his life. In a parallel world in which he is not one of the best goalkeepers in the world, he would probably have spent his Saturday at the Revierderby rather than in the marquee. There were times when you could have allowed him such excursions in a very real Bayern world because you hardly needed him anyway – that’s not possible at the moment. Had to intervene a few times, had no chance when conceding a goal and was even used for headers in the opponent’s penalty area in the final offensive.
Noussair Mazraoui
Will visit a marquee for the first time this year as a Bayern employee, but should have been much happier to be in the starting XI again on Saturday. This was partly due to Benjamin Pavard’s physical complaints, but also because Mazraoui did well in the end. Against Augsburg not as purposeful as last, also with some bad passes. With performances like this, there will soon be queues behind Pavard like in front of a full Oktoberfest tent.
Dayot Upamecano
After Lucas Hernandez’s injury, finds himself in a position where he is the longest-serving central defender left to play the role of chief of defence. So far, it has been a little strange to accept this position at Bayern, which continued against Augsburg: was more responsible for uncertainty than security with numerous ball losses, did not look good at 0-1 and urgently needs to acquire more consistency eventually become a real boss.

Against Augsburg it became clear that it wasn’t his team-mates’ fault: Mané was repeatedly sought out and played, but was still unsuccessful in his assists and goals. I urgently need a successful conclusion again, maybe one in the Schützen-Festzelt is enough.
Thomas Müller
