Incidents at Groupama Stadium during OL-Strasbourg

The Lyon evening was peppered with incidents before, during and after OL’s defeat against Strasbourg (1-2). Before, the coach of the OL players had been greeted by some vehement supporters, whom Jean-Michel Aulas later accused of having attacked the vehicle.

During, tifos and insulting songs resounded from the two turns of ultras. But it was after the match that the fever suddenly rose, the Bad Gones trying to force their way, at the bottom of the north bend, to enter the field, but in vain. They were checked by the gates and the stewards, while the CRS, rushed, did not intervene directly.

Hooded supporters tried to force a gate leading to the locker room

At least not at this time, because the incidents multiplied around the stadium, after dozens of hooded supporters tried to enter the enclosure and force a gate leading to the locker room. The clashes were relatively short, but violent. In response, the CRS launched tear gas canisters which spread through the hallways of the stadium, so much so that Laurent Blanc’s press conference was held at the edge of the field. A little after 11:30 p.m., calm had returned.
