During a discussion with the educational team of the Louise-Michel college in Ganges, north of Montpellier, the president, accompanied by the Minister of Education Pap Ndiaye, announced an increase of between 100 and 230 euros net more per month. for teachers. “We must better recognize and better pay teachers,” he insisted.
This unconditional increase, for all teachers, will be accompanied by an increase linked to new missions based on volunteering. In total, this increase may go “up to 500 euros per month”. This is the famous pact between the government and the teachers. The latter will be able to receive a salary supplement if they agree to undertake short-term replacements in secondary education or tutoring.
Encourage vocations
A response to the crisis in teaching vocations, which has worsened in recent years. The government’s objective is in particular to enhance the attractiveness of the profession at the start of a career. As a result, no new teacher will start their career under 2,000 euros net per month.
