A judicial investigation was opened Thursday for rape, after the assault on a young woman in Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) on the night of August 14 to 15,

The 25-year-old was allegedly assaulted on the public road, on the outskirts of the city, while she was going to a nightclub. If she remembers having been raped, which has been confirmed by medical findings, she is however unable to recount the circumstances, suffering amnesia linked to the psychological trauma.
The victim had been rescued around three in the morning by passers-by, near the Bordeaux road, and taken to the emergency room of the Pau hospital.
