In Montpellier, the faculty of letters has been blocked since Wednesday

Since Wednesday, it has been impossible to access the classrooms at Paul-Valéry University, in Montpellier (Hérault). To protest against the Pension Reform, student demonstrators, supported by railway workers, blocked the campus, positioning chairs and tables in front of the entrances to the buildings. The library, and the other sites of the faculty of letters, in particular Saint-Charles, however remain open.

The Scum (University Combat Union) and Solidaires Etudiant.es took part in the blockade, which still continues, this Thursday. The rebellious deputies Nathalie Oziol and Sylvain Carrière also expressed their support for the student demonstrators.

Tuesday, the day of national mobilization against the reform, the management of the university had decided to keep the gates of the Paul-Valéry university closed. “If we open, the university will be blocked, indicated the direction of the faculty to 20 minutes. The easiest way is to close. A decision condemned by the student unions, who saw it as a deliberate means of curbing the mobilization against the pension reform.
