Valérie Pécresse almost did not come on the set of the new issue of Jean-Jacques Bourdin. Tuesday evening on BFMTTV, the LR presidential candidate, indeed underlined from the outset that she had “clearly asked the question”, because of the investigation for suspicion of sexual assault targeting the journalist.
But in the end she came out of “respect” for the presumption of innocence. However, before rolling out her proposals, Valérie Pécresse took the opportunity to vilify “the law of silence” on violence against women.
Bourdin “disputes the facts”
“Very clearly these accusations, if proven, are serious” and must be the subject of convictions, added the candidate for whom “for too long, society has looked elsewhere”. She also promised that, as president, she would support women “to free speech”. Visibly moved, Jean-Jacques Bourdin for his part assured that he was not going to “not (s) ‘express on this subject”. “But I contest the facts reported by the press and I let justice do its job,” added the journalist, who then struggled to regain control.

Back to the Blanquer controversy
Asked about the controversy surrounding Jean-Michel Blanquer’s vacation in Ibiza, Valérie Pécresse felt that “it would have been better to take a few days to consult”. The subject is really what it says about the power in place” which she described as “authoritarian, solitary”.
Promising a “purchasing power shock” because “today, the priority is wages”, she repeated her promise of a 10% wage increase to 2.2 net minimum wage and ” detax overtime. But it is also necessary to be able to “convert the RTT into salary, without limit”.
To fight against the “scourge” of medical deserts, she proposed that young doctors spend a year in the territories, “in the countryside or in town”, at the end of their general studies. We must also “train twice as many doctors” in the next five years, and recruit “25,000 more caregivers in the hospital”.
“I will not restore the ISF”
Among his other proposals: “rural childcare plan”, tax exemption for donations “up to €100,000 every 6 years”, “priority” for front-line workers in the allocation of housing… “I don’t I will not restore the ISF”, added the former minister, who also defended her objective “zero carbon in 2050” via nuclear and renewable energies. Valérie Pécresse also repeated proposals to “restore order”: new prison places, “rescue plan for justice”, “punch” brigades in the neighborhoods, policy of “visa against return of illegal immigrants” on the immigration… Finally, on the economy, she promised to “stabilize” and “lower” the debt, evoking “courageous decisions which may not necessarily please the French”.
