The weather is getting worse and worse. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) again lowered its global growth forecast for 2023 on Tuesday, heightening fears of a coming recession under the effect of inflation and the conflict in Ukraine.
The institution still anticipates global growth of 3.2% for 2022, but now only expects 2.7% in 2023 (-0.2 points compared to the previous revision in July). For the United States, growth should be even lower than expected this year, with GDP now expected to rise by 1.6% (-0.7 points), and should continue to slow to just 1.0 % in 2023, the IMF announced at its annual meetings.
