Ilkay Gündogan answered questions from the fans on Twitter. As he did so, he raved about N’Golo Kante.

For international Ilkay Gündogan, N’Golo Kante is the strongest midfielder he has ever played against. The Manchester City professional answered a corresponding user question in a question and answer session on Twitter. “He’s really strong. The workload he shows in the game is just incredible,” wrote Gündogan.

Kante has been one of the best defensive midfielders in world football for years and played a major role in Chelsea’s Champions League victory last season. Blues coach Thomas Tuchel showed himself to be a big fan of the Frenchman. In the current season, however, he repeatedly dragged himself through with minor injuries, and he was also temporarily absent due to a corona infection.

Gündogan also had great praise for his teammate Kevin De Bruyne and former world champion Mesut Özil. According to Gündogan, the two are “perhaps the two best playmakers the Premier League has ever seen,” he says. On the Belgian, the 31-year-old emphasized his long passes, crosses and finishing. Özil, on the other hand, convinces with overview, technique and passing.

Neither Kante nor De Bruyne are currently among the three best players in the world for Gündogan. When asked about it, the former BVB professional answered with Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski, Real attacker Karim Benzema and Liverpool’s exceptional talent Mohamed Salah.
