When Ilgen-Nur released her first songs six years ago, success was quick. The musician, born near Stuttgart in 1996, quickly won over the indie stars with her youthfully bored guitar sound Tocotronic, who took them on tour as support. Anyone who has seen Ilgen-Nur live since then will never be able to get enough of her strong stage presence. Her debut album, released in 2019, was followed by numerous solo shows throughout Europe and an invitation to the renowned “SXSW” showcase festival in Texas, USA in 2020.
But then the pandemic came. The festival was canceled, but Ilgen-Nur, who had already traveled to the USA, simply stayed and lived in Los Angeles for several months. Now she was surrounded by a city whose sound had accompanied her since her youth. Years of idleness followed: In Los Angeles, she drove around, listened to music, wrote her experiences and feelings in her diary. At home in Berlin she sorted through the song ideas and then produced them again in the studio in LA. Her album “It’s All Happening” was released in October. With new and old pieces you can now experience Ilgen-Nur live again on her “Purple Moon Tour” at the Milla Club in Munich.
