IG Metall expands warm strikes in Bavaria – Bavaria

IG Metall is significantly expanding its warning strikes in Bavaria. According to the union, 12,000 employees in 62 companies took part in warning strikes by the afternoon of Friday. In the evening, 6,000 employees on the late shift at the BMW Dingolfing plant were called on to go on a warning strike. The late shift at Bosch in Bamberg was supposed to start four hours earlier at the weekend. IG Metall district leader Johann Horn said: “From Tuesday a massive second wave of warning strikes will roll over Bavarian companies.” After four unsuccessful rounds of negotiations, all eyes are now on Baden-Württemberg. There, the collective bargaining parties have offered to look for a way to a pilot degree. In the nationwide collective bargaining dispute, IG Metall is demanding eight percent more wages for a contract term of twelve months. Employers offered a one-off payment of 3,000 euros net for a period of 30 months, as well as an unspecified increase in the wage tables. The fourth round of collective bargaining talks for around 855,000 employees in Bavaria was adjourned on Tuesday without any significant rapprochement and without a new date.
