IAA in Munich: Natalie Portman appears as a keynote speaker at the auto show – Munich

Hollywood glamor at the IAA Mobility in Munich: Oscar winner Natalie Portman will be a guest on September 5 – and will be a speaker at the IAA Conference. The organizer announced this on Monday. Portman has been positioning himself on socio-political issues for many years – for climate protection and animal rights, against poverty and social injustice. The 42-year-old wants to speak about sustainable mobility.

“For the transition to sustainable mobility to succeed, sustainable mobility solutions must be affordable and accessible to everyone,” Portman said. “I look forward to discussing the possibilities of achieving this at IAA Mobility.” She believes that every individual can make a contribution in their everyday life, but that the right framework is required.

The actress is one of more than 500 speakers from politics and business as well as the most important companies from the automotive, technology, bicycle and micro-mobility sectors who will come together in Munich between September 5th and 10th.

The organizers are looking forward to the Hollywood star on the Munich podium. Hildegard Müller, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), says: “Natalie Portman is an authentic personality who, in addition to her international film career, has been successfully committed to socio-political issues for years.” According to VDA Managing Director Jürgen Mindel, Portman’s participation shows that interest in topics relating to climate-friendly and digital mobility is widespread in society. “With her, we are gaining a person who has proven many times that a lot can be achieved in society with attitude and persistence.” Stefan Rummel, Managing Director of Messe München, is also looking forward to her contribution: “Natalie Portman is a star who has often taken an exemplary position and inspired others with it.”

Portman is best known for her role in the “Star Wars” films, in which she played Queen Padme Amidala. The daughter of an Israeli father and a Jewish-American mother was already in front of the camera at the age of twelve. In 2011, she won an Oscar for her role as ballet dancer Nina Sayers in the film Black Swan.

The IAA, once one of the most important automotive trade fairs in the world, moved from Frankfurt to Munich two years ago. The concept also changed with the move: the new name IAA Mobility was intended to show that the focus is no longer just on cars, but on everything that moves people – e-bikes, e-scooters, public transport, trains, buses, trains.
