It’s not just the hurricane itself that is causing devastation in the US state – a tornado is also tearing through a trailer park for seniors. There are dead people.
According to a local sheriff in the US state of Florida, several people are affected by a tornado in a trailer park for seniors Hurricane “Milton” killed. The sheriff of St. Lucie County, Keith Pearson, did not provide any precise information about the number of deaths in an interview with CNN. “I can tell you that there is more than one person who lost their life that we have already recovered.”
Around 200 emergency services are in the trailer park looking for people who are still trapped in the facility. The tornado left a “path of destruction,” it said. Hundreds of houses were also “completely destroyed” in the county about 150 kilometers southeast of Orlando.
According to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, at least 19 confirmed tornadoes were recorded in the state on Wednesday.
“Milton” reached the west coast of Florida on Wednesday evening as a Category 3 hurricane and later weakened.
