With increasing digitization and use of social media, the requirements for data protection are also increasing – also in child day care. In the interview, lawyer Carmen Stocker-Preisenberger from Vaterstetten talks about the challenges of data protection in this area and answers the question of how well children’s data is protected.

Carmen Stocker-Preisenberger (48) studied law in Freiburg and Munich, and has lived in Vaterstetten since 2000. She came across the orchid subject of childcare law more or less by accident during her studies: the childcare worker who looked after her eldest son kept pestering her with legal questions about childcare. Since then, Stocker-Preisenberger has delved into this area of ​​law, gives legal training courses and has written an expertise for the German Youth Institute in which she deals with the topic of data protection in child day care and gives practical tips.
