What is the exceptional energy check?

The exceptional energy check is a system financed by the European Social Fund. Facing ever-increasing cost of energythis system aims to support the most modest households in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, as well as those in the Île-de-France region, but under another name, namely, Energy boost.

Why an exceptional energy check?

The price of energy, particularly electricity and gas, is expected to be high again this year. To help households cope with this surge in prices, additional exceptional aid will be granted to the poorest households to enable them to benefit from a helping hand in paying their energy bill.

When will the exceptional aid be paid?

If you are eligible for this assistance, you will receive an energy check in the amount of €250 before December 31, 2023provided, of course, that you have made the request within the allotted time limit.

Attention : You will not be able to cash the check at your bank, it will have to be sent to your supplier!

How to make the request to obtain this exceptional assistance?

To request help to obtain the exceptional energy check, simply connect to the official sites:

  • For people living in the PACA region, the request is made on the site www.maregionsud.fr. You will then have to complete an online form, but also provide proof of identity, your last tax notice, proof of address less than 3 months old and a French bank identity statement.
  • For people living in the Île-de-France region, please note that this same system was launched, but under the name “Energy Boost”. The application procedure is identical to that described previously, but by going to the site www.iledefrance.fr/coup-de-pouce-energie.

What is the application submission deadline?

If, given the makeup of your household and your income, you think you are eligible for this assistance, it is necessary to apply for an exceptional energy check before the following dates:

  • If you live in the PACA region: until November 22, 2023 inclusive.
  • If you live in the Île-de-France region, the deadline is October 31, 2023.

Who can benefit ?

To be eligible for this exceptional aid, it is necessary to meet a certain number of criteria. In fact, it is reserved for low-income households in the PACA region, which means that you must be domiciled in one of the 6 departments of the region to be able to benefit from it, namely:

  • Hautes-Alpes 05;
  • Alpes-de-Haute-Provence 04;
  • the Alpes-Maritimes 06;
  • Var 83;
  • Vaucluse 84;
  • Bouches-du-Rhône 13.

In addition, to benefit from it, the reference tax income must be less than 60% of the median income. This varies depending on the number of people living in the household.
