When Mathias Fischedick listens to his clients, he keeps hearing this sentence: “And then the colleague got emotional.” Fischedick works as a coach in Cologne, and this sentence also makes him emotional. “It sounds like it is forbidden to get emotional,” he says. Most of the time it is not even possible to say whether the colleague was angry, sad or just frustrated. Because many are uncomfortable with their own emotions or those of others, they prefer to look the other way – especially at work.
