It is still unclear what effects this dominance has on society and what risks it poses. This is also because their AI models are proprietary; no one can control them from the outside. The recent chaos surrounding Open AI boss Sam Altman, who was fired and then rehired, raises questions about how transparent companies need to be when developing such powerful technology.
