Founded in 1980 as Singkreis Sauerlach, the choir, now known as Tonart Sauerlach-Holzkirchen, has twice attempted to celebrate its 40th birthday under Clayton B. Bowman. In March 2020 and January 2022, however, the anniversary concert fell victim to the pandemic. This Sunday, May 8th, it should all work out: In the church of St. Josef in Holzkirchen – here is a picture of a rehearsal – the choir, supported by soloists, strings and organ, performs works by Dvořák (Mass in D major) , Rheinberger (“Stabat Mater”) and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (cantata “Give us peace”). The concert “Music is Hope” begins at 8 p.m. Tickets at the box office.
