Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn – citizens’ competition for community slogan – Munich district

Is Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn “naturally welcoming”? Or does the slogan “cordially connected. outstanding.” suit the community better? At least that’s what the two proposals from a media agency presented to the municipal council last summer – including two ideas for a new municipal logo. The reason for the presentation was the municipality’s desire for a new corporate design, i.e. a uniform external appearance, for example on flyers, brochures and posters. However, the concepts shown in August apparently only partially convinced the municipal council. The town hall is now calling on the residents of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn to submit their own proposals.

“I’m happy,” says City Hall chief Mindy Konwitschny (SPD), “that the citizens are designing our new logo and our new slogan.” These should “represent our community and the attitude towards life in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn” and “show what makes us so unique as a community”. The town hall’s appeal says: “A place between town and country, traditional and modern at the same time, with great environmental awareness and a home for all generations.”

All of this should be reflected in a logo and slogan that will be emblazoned on the municipality’s documents, posters and promotional items in the future. The coat of arms of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn remains untouched. This should adorn all official documents of the community as a national emblem.

Proposals for a new logo can either be hand-painted or submitted in digital form to the town hall – by post or email to [email protected]. In addition, the town hall asks for an explanation of what the logo represents and what it stands for in the community. Participants can either submit the logo and slogan together or just one of the two. Submitting multiple suggestions is also allowed. A signed declaration of participation is required for each submission, which can be downloaded from the municipality’s website or picked up at the town hall.

The closing date for entries is April 14th. A jury will then make a pre-selection of proposals before the citizens choose the winners. The three best-placed logos receive cash prizes of 3000, 1000 and 500 euros. There is 500 euros for the winning slogan.
