Hoffenheim striker Rutter is moving to Leeds United

Huge transfer for TSG Hoffenheim: Georginio Rutter leaves the Bundesliga club from Kraichgau for the Premier League.

Georginio Rutter is leaving TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and moving to Leeds United in the English Premier League with immediate effect. This was confirmed by the Yorkshire club on Saturday evening.

“Transfers like Georginio Rutter to TSG Hoffenheim are only possible because of transfers like Georginio Rutter to Leeds United,” said Alexander Rosen, TSG director of professional football, and coach André Breitenreiter added: “Georginio has a good character and enormous talent . No coach in the world likes to lose a player like that.”

Rutter scored eight goals last season and has recently been a key force on TSG’s offensive line. Although they recently brought in another striker in Denmark’s Kasper Dolberg, they have to wait and see how the recently injured Ihlas Bebou and Munas Dabbur get back into shape.

According to consistent media reports, Hoffenheim should receive up to 40 million euros for the offensive player, which would make him the third most expensive departure. Rutter still had a contract in Kraichgau until 2026. Hoffenheim had recently released the 20-year-old from training.

The club signed Rutter from Stade Rennes in 2021. The transfer fee at the time: manageable 750,000 euros.
