A 48-year-old died in a fire in a shop in the Ansbach district. Witnesses called the fire brigade on Monday morning when they saw flames coming from the clothing store in Herrieden, a police spokesman said.
Emergency services found the man lifeless in the building and took him outside. Despite attempts to revive him, he died at the scene. The fire reportedly started in the office area of the store. The cause of fire was unclear for the moment. The police have not yet been able to quantify the damage. Due to the heavy smoke development, traffic on the nearby Autobahn 6 was temporarily affected.
