Shots are fired in Cologne, a man dies and a woman is critically injured. The investigators are trying under high pressure to clarify the background.

After shots were fired at two pedestrians in Cologne, the police are investigating whether it was a targeted murder in the rocker milieu. A 35-year-old man and his 28-year-old companion were attacked by several strangers on Saturday afternoon in Cologne’s Böckingpark.

The 35-year-old was killed, the woman suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds. Doctors continued to fight for their lives today. The search for the perpetrators was ongoing.

Connection to motorcycle club?

According to media reports, the victim is said to be a former Hells Angels rocker. The investigators referred today only to the information from Saturday, according to which the murder commission is examining possible references to the rocker milieu.

In order not to endanger the investigation, no further information could be given, a spokeswoman for the Cologne public prosecutor’s office said on request at the weekend.

According to the “Bild” newspaper, three dark-clad men had watched the couple in the park. While the woman was shot on the spot, the 35-year-old fled on foot. After about 100 meters, the alleged perpetrators caught up with him and killed him with a shot in the back of the head.

According to the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger”, this happened in the backyard of a brewery, into which the 35-year-old is said to have run. Photos showed police taped off a footpath leading into the park and tracks were being secured there. According to the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger”, an employee of the brewery is said to have provided first aid to the seriously injured woman.
