Heligoland ferry “Funny Girl” drifts on the North Sea after a power outage

The MS “Funny Girl” is in distress at sea. The Heligoland ferry was on the way back from the North Sea island to Büsum in Schleswig-Holstein when the power on board failed. Now the ship is drifting in the North Sea without power.

There was a blackout, a classic power outage, a spokesman for the Elbe-Nordsee Waterways and Shipping Authority (WSA) told the German Press Agency. The media had previously reported. There should be 250 passengers on board.

The “Hamburger Morgenpost” reports, citing passengers, that an attempt was initially made to repair the ship. Passengers were kept happy by the nice weather. Since a repair was not successful, a tug is now on its way to the “Funny Girl”.
