Helen Mirren will receive the SAG Life Achievement Award in early 2022. The actors will be honored for their life’s work.

Helen Mirren (76) is being honored for her life’s work. This has been announced by the SAG-AFTRA union, which particularly represents actors and other professionals from the entertainment industry. Mirren will be the 57th person to receive the Life Achievement Award at the upcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards, scheduled for February 27, 2022.

The 76-year-old has already received numerous awards for her acting achievements in the past decades, including an Oscar for “The Queen”, several Emmys and Golden Globes. Last year she also received the Honorary Golden Bear at the Berlinale – also for her life’s work. In 2003, the British woman was also made a lady.

Big names in show business

Mirren is thus included in an exclusive ranks of other greats in the film, series and show world. Among them are Robert De Niro (78), Morgan Freeman (84), Betty White (99), Clint Eastwood (91), Elizabeth Taylor (1932-2011) and Frank Sinatra (1915-1998).

The 76-year-old feels “honored”, she said in a statement. Even as a young actress, she was always inspired by American acting in film and learned from it. That’s why the award means a lot to her.
