For the opener song of the 17th “GNTM” season, Heidi Klum has teamed up with Snoop Dogg. How is “Chai Tea with Heidi” received?
Heidi Klum (48) has released her song “Chai Tea With Heidi”, which has been available since January 14 and will be the theme song of the upcoming 17th season of “Germany’s next top model”. In it she can be heard together with rap star Snoop Dogg (50), the song was produced by husband Tom Kaulitz (32) with his new DJ project WeddingCake. How is the song received by the fans?
From “absolutely cringe” to “perfect for dancing”
“I can’t get the song out of my ears,” said one fan on the Instagram account from WeddingCake enthusiastic about the catchy tune potential of the song. “Perfect for dancing,” judged another. One user even thinks he has heard the “summer hit 2022”. “The beat is mega, vocally I find it a bit reserved,” joked another.
At a first clip for the song, which Heidi Klum published on Instagram on Thursday, the enthusiasm could not be heard from everyone either. “Heidi’s voice sounds terrible,” commented one user. “Absolutely cringe” or “Snoop, so sorry you did that” were other comments. “Poor Rod Stewart,” noted a listener. Rod Stewart’s (77) hit “Baby Jane” from 1983 was sampled for the song.
“I’ve loved to sing my whole life and now having a song with ‘The Godfather of Rap’ is really an absolute highlight of my life”, explained Klum in the ProSieben interview. Snoop Dogg is “simply the coolest guy ever. He has no starry airs and you laugh a lot with him.” The song was recorded within three days at his recording studio in Inglewood, Los Angeles.
