Highly dramatic minutes in the season finale of the 2nd league: After the win against Sandhausen, HSV thinks they are promoted for a few minutes. But competitor Heidenheim turns his game against Regensburg in injury time. The Hamburgers now have to go into relegation.

1. FC Heidenheim made it into the Bundesliga for the first time in an unbelievable promotion final, while Hamburger SV has to go into relegation again. At the final whistle, the Hamburgers were already cheering, Sandhausen’s stadium announcer congratulated them on their promotion. But the game in Regensburg went on for almost ten minutes and FCH equalized with a penalty from Jan-Niklas Beste (90’+3′) and actually managed to win through Tim Kleindienst (90’+9′). There was shock in Sandhausen. After 15 minutes of added time it was over in Regensburg and Heidenheim celebrated.

Bielefeld has to go into relegation

In the table basement it quickly became apparent that it would run against Arminia. East Westphalia would have had to win to still have a chance of direct rescue. But goals from Amara Condé (38′) and Baris Atik (45′, penalty kick) put Arminia 2-0 down at half-time. Nuremberg already led through a goal by Lukas Schleimer (20th). Braunschweig was outnumbered in Rostock after the yellow-red card against Anton Donkor from the 22nd minute. When Condé again made it 3-0 for Magdeburg immediately after the break (51st), almost everything was decided in the basement, regardless of the other places. Jason Ceka followed up for FCM (67th).
