Parts of Germany are threatened with severe weather with heavy rain, flooding and high water throughout the weekend. The maps below show the current weather situation.

Southern Germany is anxiously watching the weather: In many communities along rivers affected by persistent rain, there could be severe flooding on Saturday. Even though there were no large-scale floods overnight, floods of the century are feared in many places. Large parts of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria in particular are expecting a tricky weekend. The map above shows the DWD’s thunderstorm warnings for today. It is a binary weather map, meaning that places for which there is a thunderstorm warning are colored red. No coloring means no warning.
