And now Germany is actually discussing whether, in view of the recurring heat waves, one should not take a look at the siesta as a form of work organization. The German public health officers raised the issue, the trade unions are in favor and the association of family entrepreneurs is strictly against it, should anyone consider introducing such an extended lunch break by law. The federal government, in turn, “takes the issue seriously,” as the government spokesman said on Wednesday, and he announced that in view of climate change, the traffic light will of course deal with how to get through the summer in the coming years.
