Prince Charles wishes to meet his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet. The 73-year-old is said to have invited his son Harry and his wife Meghan to London. A legal dispute could prevent the reunion.

It could be the first step towards reconciliation: Prince Charles is said to have invited his son Prince Harry and his family to Great Britain. The 73-year-old finally wants to meet his granddaughter Lilibet Diana personally, writes the British newspaper “The Mirror”. Harry and his wife Meghan’s second child was born on June 4, 2021 in Santa Barbara, where the couple lives after leaving the royal family. Apart from video calls, Prince Charles has never met his granddaughter in person. Harry’s son, Archie, who is now two, last saw the royal family in 2019.

“The Prince of Wales is saddened not to have the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren who he misses dearly. He is a fantastic grandfather and loves taking on the role and it is fair to say that he feels something is missing in his life if he can’t meet Harry’s children,” the Mirror quoted an anonymous source close to Charles as saying. The heir to the throne is said to have offered his son a trip to his old homeland around Christmas.

Is Prince Harry Coming to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee?

Accordingly, Prince Harry could come to London in the spring. Then in Westminster Abbey a Memorial service in honor of Prince Philip take place. Queen Elizabeth II’s husband died in April 2021 at the age of 99. Westminster Abbey held a special meaning for the Duke of Edinburgh. Among other things, the wedding of Elizabeth II and Philip took place in the cathedral on November 20, 1947. A year after his death, he will be remembered there. There are also numerous events throughout the year to mark the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s throne planned. The biggest celebrations will take place from June 2nd to 5th. The British get a special holiday for this. An occasion for which Prince Harry could also fly to his old home.

However, a legal dispute that smolders in the background could become a problem. As it became known a few days ago, the 37-year-old is threatening the British government with a lawsuit because they do not want to grant him personal protection for himself and his family or are not willing to share sensitive information with Harry’s private security guards.

Harry demands police protection from the British government

“Prince Harry inherited a security hazard at birth, for life. He remains sixth in line to the throne, has twice deployed to Afghanistan and his family has faced well-documented threats from neo-Nazis and extremists in recent years. During “Even though his role within the institution has changed, his profile as a member of the royal family has remained the same. Nor has the threat to him and his family changed,” said Omid Scobie, the unofficial spokesman for Harry and Meghan shared on his Twitter page.

The UK will “always be Prince Harry’s home,” it said, but he and his family would not be able to return “without protection.” Until this matter is resolved, Prince Charles will probably continue to only see his grandchildren via video.
