Until police custody separated them. On Tuesday, two men got married in front of the mayor of a Parisian district. Well, a wedding, at least that’s what one of the spouses thought. Because, according to The Parisiana terrible revelation came to spoil the party and the evening ended with stabbings and the arrest of the bride and groom.
The ceremony went well and the guests gathered at the bride and groom’s house for the after-party. Obviously, everyone had a drink, or several, or even too many, especially the newlyweds. We don’t know exactly how it happened, but a police source explained to our colleagues that one of the bride and groom confessed to the other that he had only married her to obtain French nationality.
The evening ended at the hospital and then at the police station.
While we can understand the deceived husband’s dismay, we in no way condone his violent reaction. He grabbed a knife and stabbed his partner before trying to strangle him. In response, the victim bit his attacker’s thumb.
Firefighters and police officers were called to the rescue, the former taking the newlyweds to hospital, the latter offering them separate rooms at the police station once they had been treated and placement in police custody. An investigation has been opened but it is not yet known what charges the two men will be prosecuted for.
