A 21-year-old young man was transported to Montpellier CHRU after being beaten on the tram. He suffers from head trauma. The facts occurred on Friday, in the middle of the day, between the Rive du Lez and Mouralès stations, near the Montpellier municipal police station.

The victim intervened to protect two young women bothered by a group. The members of this group then attacked him violently, beating him, particularly in the head, while he was lying on the ground. The perpetrators of this ultra-violent attack fled before help arrived.

Two of them, aged 15 and 16, would nevertheless have been recognized on the CCTV images. Arrested, they received a summons to court before the children’s judge. They would have recognized the facts during their police custody.
