With its victory in Wolfsburg this Saturday in the Bundesliga (2-3), Bayern Munich has come even closer to a ninth consecutive German league title. But the news is elsewhere in the Bavarian club, not baptized for nothing the “FC Hollywood”: his trainer Hans-Dieter Flick announced after the match his intention to leave the club this summer.

“I announced it to the team, I would like to end my contract at the end of the season,” said the technician on Sky, theoretically engaged with Bayern until 2024. Asked about his possible future as Germany coach, he assured that nothing had been decided yet.

Success on the pitch, tensions behind the scenes

Arrived at the head of the most prestigious German club in November 2019, Flick achieved in the wake of a historic sextuplet (championship, national cup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, national Super Cup, Club World Cup). This season, Bayern has just been eliminated by PSG in the quarter-finals of the C1, and Flick maintains a deleterious relationship with sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.
