At the start of the semester, they are asking the state government to finally tackle the “catastrophic situation”. The need is huge: Around 15,000 students are waiting for accommodation in Munich. Not only they would benefit from more dormitories.
It’s so quiet, in politics and among students. “It’s sad,” says Sebastian Rein. He and David Vadasz want to end this silence and put an issue on the political agenda that is a major problem for more than 100,000 Munich residents: the lack of cheap rooms for students. “We demand that the catastrophic situation of student housing in Munich be tackled with high pressure!” Rein and Vadasz wrote that in letters to several parties in the state parliament.
