The strapless, skin-tight dress captivated with a neckline reminiscent of the shape of two shells. The actress wore her long, dark hair down. For makeup, Bailey opted for blue eyeshadow and rose-colored lip gloss. The Ariel actress was joined by her sister Chloe (24) on the red carpet. She too shone in a skin-tight yellow dress that showcased her curves perfectly. A striking cut-out that reached to the navel and emphasized her décolleté created a wow effect.

Co-star Melissa McCarthy (52) also drew everyone’s attention in her royal blue dress with fringes and puff sleeves. Spanish actor Javier Bardem (54) wore a classic, dark blue suit. The Oscar winner plays Ariel’s father King Triton, McCarthy the wicked witch Ursula. Other stars, such as Heidi Klum (49), walked the red carpet at the premiere. The model’s sheer pink dress featured a huge glittery flower.

Will “The Little Mermaid” become a success?

“The Little Mermaid” is expected to impress at the box office. According to current projections, the remake of the 1989 animated classic will gross $110 million on its opening weekend, as reported by Deadline. The film will be released in cinemas in the USA on May 26th, in Germany one day earlier.

in one Interview with the magazine “Edition” Halle Bailey said in March of the pressure she was under on the production: “I’ve pushed myself as far as I’ve ever done in my life.” She added: “I’m really looking forward to my version of the film because we’ve definitely changed the perspective that she just wants to leave the ocean for a boy. It’s much more than that. It’s about herself, her purpose, her freedom, her life and what she wants.”

In the run-up there were racist hostilities against “Arielle, the mermaid”, these first appeared in the summer of 2019 when the casting of actress Bailey became known. Among other things, Disney star Josh Gad (42) had himself on twitter put up a fight and defended the diverse cast. “Imagine being so broken and miserable in your life that your biggest concern is the skin color of a singing mermaid, which is a product of fantasy,” he wrote in March 2023.
