In contrast to the previous thefts, the amount of cash stolen is not high – theater director Matthias Riedel-Rüppel speaks of 250 to 300 euros – but the damage to property caused by the perpetrator (s) is painful: First, a large window in the theater café was thrown in with a stone , then several doors were kicked in on the ground floor and on the upper floors of the Art Nouveau building. “It’s so pointless. What does the perpetrator expect to find in a theater?”, Says Riedel-Rüppel, who also sees the series of burglaries as an “emotional burden”. The theater was broken into and cash was stolen as early as mid-October and November 1. The second time a safe was stolen with a total of 3500 euros in gastronomy income.
