Haar near Munich: charity run against domestic violence – district of Munich

After the success of the first run two years ago and on the occasion of its tenth anniversary, the Munich Intervention Center (ILM) is organizing another charity run against domestic violence on Saturday, November 19, from 11 a.m. in the sports park in Haar. According to official figures, every third woman is affected by domestic violence in her life, but according to the ILM, only around 20 percent seek help. With the run, the ILM wants to encourage those affected and point them to the contact point in the district of Munich.

This will be moderated by Peter Maisenbacher, known among other things from the Munich Marathon. Both adults and children can set new running records on the officially measured route. To register at www.abavent.de is requested because only 300 starting places are available. Each participant receives a medal, and there are additional prizes for the winners. The excess income from the run will benefit the association “Friends and Supporters of the Family Center Haar”, which supports victims of domestic violence.

Victims of domestic violence can contact the Munich District Intervention Center to arrange appointments for free and, if desired, anonymous advice on the telephone number 089/6221-1221 or at www.interventionsstelle-landkreis-muenchen.de. The “Violence against Women” help line is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on 08000 116 016 and online at www.hilfetelefon.de accessible.
