The police were on duty in Laim on Monday evening with a large contingent of around 15 police patrols and a helicopter. The trigger was an emergency call shortly after half past seven, as a police spokesman for the SZ said. The caller reported a “gunshot” from an underground car park on Fürstenrieder Strasse.
During their investigations on site, the officers then found that a shot had actually been fired, but only from a blank pistol. Previously there had been “disputes between two parties,” said the police spokesman. The shooter was arrested.
Residents of the area had expressed concern about the police operation on Twitter in the evening. Among other things, it was asked whether there was a “danger to the general public” – what the police could do with a reply tweet denied.
