Grünwald: Seniors’ Union warms up for geothermal energy – district of Munich

The Senioren-Union München-Land informed itself about the use of geothermal energy at Erdwärme Grünwald. Afterwards, district chairperson Ilse Weiß explained: “We want to work to ensure that this type of energy production is given more weight in the political discussion.” Geothermal energy must be used more, especially since it is always available regardless of the weather. “The use of geothermal energy is an important contribution to the energy transition, in which Bavaria as a whole, especially the district of Munich, takes a leading position,” Weiß is quoted as saying in a press release from the Seniors’ Union. At the same time, the district chair of the Senior Citizens’ Union attacked the federal government: “Instead of ideologically demanding the use of more wind turbines, the traffic light coalition in Berlin should be open to all ways of generating alternative energy.”
