Grünwald – concert with David Orlowsky and David Bergmüller – district of Munich

With his award-winning trio, the clarinettist David Orlowsky has made a name for himself worldwide for the fusion of classical music and klezmer. The David Orlowsky Trio, which also played in Grünwald’s August-Everding-Saal, broke up after a good two decades in 2019, but he himself is now coming back to the banks of the Isar: On Thursday, December 8th, Orlowsky will play with the lutenist David Bergmüller appear in the “Classic plus” series.

Both musicians are considered border crossers who cross musical barriers. Even the combination of lute and clarinet is virtually unique, music for a duo in this constellation does not exist. So Orlowsky and Bergmüller composed for the recording of their new program “Alter Ego” themselves and rearranged existing works. Above all, works by Henry Purcell and John Dowland can be heard, which are combined and varied with improvisations, partly with elements of minimal music, partly with sounds of the Spanish baroque. The concert starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are available in advance on the municipality’s website, at the Urban kiosk, Auf der Eierwiese 1, or by calling the Reservix ticket hotline on 01806/70 07 33.
