Tears in the finale: Comedian Mirja Boes is said goodbye to “Grill den Henssler” on Sunday with loving words and standing ovations.

At “Grill den Henssler” there is a farewell: Next Sunday (August 28, from 8:15 p.m. on VOX or RTL+) Mirja Boes (50) will be on the jury for the last time. Since 2019, the entertainer with a fine palate has tasted and judged the dishes of star chef Steffen Henssler (49) and his prominent opponents in around 60 programs. No wonder that the farewell is not without tears – the well-known Boes humor does not fall by the wayside.

“This is my 60th show, I’ve eaten 80,000 calories, if you add the eggnog that we eat backstage, it’s even 150,000 calories. Well, I have to part with one thing – and eggnog isn’t possible.” , the comedienne is quoted in advance in a press release from the broadcaster. As the reason for her departure, she again explains that she wants to devote herself to her live program again in the future, which had to be postponed again and again due to the corona pandemic. “I have to go back out on stage now,” said Boes.

After standing ovations and unending applause, including from her two jury colleagues Christian Rach (65) and Reiner Calmund (73), the comedian becomes unusually emotional and even fights back tears. Even with moderator Laura Wontorra (33) there is no dry eye. Calmund finds loving words to say goodbye: “You are my treat and my candy, my clear ten is sitting next to me, my Mirja!”

This year’s summer season also comes to an end next Sunday. In the final episode, moderator Harry Wijnvoord (73), musician Stefan Mross (46) and Barbara Becker (55) will take on the TV chef. Christian Lohse (55) serves the celebrities as a cooking coach.
