Return to the mothership: After six years on the spin-off “Seattle Firefighters,” Jason George returns to the original series “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Actor Jason George (52) is now back on the regular cast of “Grey’s Anatomy.” According to industry website “According to Deadline, the star of “Seattle Firefighters” has signed a contract with the production company ABC to appear in the 21st season. This means that George is returning to the mother ship “Grey’s Anatomy” after six years on the spin-off series.

Married to the chief physician since season nine

George was a long-time member of the medical team at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. George joined the hit series in 2010 with the sixth season – another career highlight for the renowned series actor. In the TV hospital, he not only cared for the patients as Dr. Ben Warren, but was also open to his female colleagues. He found his great love in chief physician Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson, 54), with whom he has been married since season nine. So Dr. Warren – and thus Jason George – was never completely gone. In seasons 12 to 14, he was still a regular on the series before he joined the spin-off and the “Seattle Firefighters” in 2018.

Return for specialist training

In recent years, Dr. Warren has turned his dream of a second career as a firefighter into reality at the fire department of Station 19. At the same time, his personal connection to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital has never been broken through his marriage to chief physician Miranda. When he then suffered a shoulder injury, he prepared a possible return to Grey Sloan. This culminated in the series finale, in which he told Captain Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz, 37) that he was going back. His reason: He wanted to finish his surgical residency there. At the same time, the “Grey’s Anatomy” finale of season 20 already teased Ben’s possible return to the mother ship. His way back is therefore well prepared, and fans can look forward to new “Grey’s” episodes with Jason George.
