At the microphone of France Inter this Thursday morning, the Minister of National Education, Pap Ndiaye, returned to the reforms and projects planned for primary and secondary education, and in particular the pension reform. Indeed, the Minister, who concedes fatigue for teachers at the end of their career, likely to “have musculoskeletal disorders”, indicated that “from the month of September, the generalization in the public service of progressive retirement” will be effective for teachers.
“You can reduce your working time and therefore your salary, and compensate for it with an advance payment, an advance payment of your retirement pension. You can do that two years before claiming your pension rights. It is a way of reducing the extension of working time,” the minister said.
An extension of working time and a revaluation
The postponement of the retirement age will be done with salary increases, maintains the minister. If they accept an “annual volume of approximately 72 hours” of additional tasks, teachers will be able to receive a salary increase. “We are currently in negotiations to reach, at the beginning of March, proposals which will be implemented from the start of the 2023 school year. What is it about? There are, in a way, two parts to this pact: a mandatory part, with in particular assignments related to short-term replacements (…) For all of these new assignments, we calculate an annual volume of around 72 hours, “said the minister on France Inter, without giving further details. These new missions will make it possible to “earn 10% more compared to the average salary, so that represents a sum of 3,650 euros annually”, underlined the minister.

So to fight against homophobia in schools, Pap Ndiaye announced the future launch of a “major communication campaign” on May 17, on the occasion of the international day against homophobia and transphobia.
