“The Banshees of Inisherin” won at the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills. Three important awards went to the film.

The film “The Banshees of Inisherin” won three major awards at the 2023 Golden Globes in Beverly Hills. The strip, directed by Martin McDonagh (52), won in the categories “Best Film – Musical or Comedy” and “Best Screenplay”. In addition, the award for best performance by an actor in a film (musical or comedy) went to leading actor Colin Farrell (46). “I never expect my films to find an audience and when they do, it’s shocking to me,” he said at the event.

The film is set on the Irish island of Inisherin, where Colm Doherty (Brendan Gleeson) and his longtime friend Pádraic Súilleabháin (Colin Farrell) live. One day, out of nowhere, Colm ends his friendship with Pádraic…

Awards for “The Fabelmans”

Steven Spielberg’s (76) film “The Fabelmans” was also one of the big winners of the evening. The work was voted “Best Film Drama”. Spielberg also won Best Director. The film “Everything Everywhere All at Once” also won prizes, Michelle Yeoh (60) was honored as best actress (musical/comedy) and Ke Huy Quan (51) as best supporting actor.

The Best Actor in a Drama award went to Austin Butler (31) for his role as Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s (60) biopic “Elvis”. Cate Blanchett (53) was awarded Best Drama Actress for her performance in “Tar”. Angela Bassett (64) received the award for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role” for her performance in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.

The TV Stars

“Abbott Elementary” was named best comedy series, and two of its stars, Tyler James Williams (30) and Quinta Brunson (33), also took home acting awards. “The White Lotus” won the award in the category “Best Limited Series”, actress Jennifer Coolidge (61) also received an award for it. Amanda Seyfried (37) was recognized for her performance in the miniseries “The Dropout”.

“House of the Dragon” can look forward to the award for “Best Drama Series”. The TV drama acting awards went to Zendaya (26, “Euphoria”) and Kevin Costner (67, “Yellowstone”).
