More models at the cover shoot than ever before
21:01: A total of eight models were photographed for the cover today. That’s never happened before. After all, no robots were shot this time – in contrast to last year.

Heidi Klum celebrates her 50th birthday
8:05 p.m.: Today is not only the GNTM quarterfinals, but also Heidi Klum’s 50th birthday. On this occasion, ProSieben is showing several special programs. And there you can find out a lot about the model mom that you didn’t know: For example, behind-the-scene shots from 18 GNTM seasons can be seen. For example, it can be seen that Heidi Klum has difficulties learning texts during moderation. Not only that: she often spits out of excitement, which she fights by chewing gum. And she has to “stick the chewing gum somewhere” when the recording starts, as Heidi Klum reveals.
All sorts of problems that you hardly notice when broadcasting GNTM are also addressed: During the first season, she suffered from an eye infection and quickly converted a bra into an eye patch. She also suffered from severe food poisoning in Singapore and even had to be hospitalized there.

A star guest has now been announced: singer Kim Petras, who was a guest juror last year, supports Heidi Klum in the final of the jury. Born in Cologne, she is not only a star in Germany. With her song “Unholy” in cooperation with Sam Smith, Petras rose to number one in the worldwide charts. She became the first transgender woman to receive an award at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
“Harper’s Bazaar” cover shoot
The most important photo shoot of the GNTM season is coming up: the remaining eight models will be photographed for “Harper’s Bazaar” – but only one candidate, namely the winner of season 18, will actually be on the cover. Kerstin Schneider, the editor-in-chief of the fashion magazine and guest juror, explains in advance: “The cover models at “Harper’s Bazaar” always have to be self-confident women, that’s the most important thing for me.” For the cover of this year’s July issue, the models pose in the desert in looks by Stella McCartney, Miu Miu, Jason Wu and Valentino.
Heidi Klum’s outfit is also particularly exciting about the shoot: The 50-year-old, for whose birthday ProSieben broadcasts three makeover highlights again before the GNTM episode, wears low-waist jeans, from which a black thong clearly protrudes.
That’s not the only reason why we’re eagerly awaiting the shooting. And not only because the winner’s cover emerges from it, but above all because the previous shootings were – let’s say – a bit disappointing. Can “Harper’s Bazaar” compensate us for the shoots that are often described as low-budget productions on Twitter?
GNTM models as drag queens
There’s also dancing again: on the day of the decision, Heidi Klum’s top model candidates perform in a real drag show in Las Vegas. Two models styled as drag queens show a rehearsed show together with a drag queen. They also have to convince the live audience with lip sync. A catwalk two weeks before the finale to see who can best conquer the world’s catwalks? Apparently overrated!
