“Germany’s Next Topmodel”
Heidi Klum now also wants men: that changes in the new GNTM season
“Germany’s Next Top Model” is waiting for a big change in the coming season: From now on, men can also apply. Heidi Klum has already found a first candidate.
In the next season “Germany’s Next Topmodel” male candidates are admitted for the first time. This was announced by broadcaster ProSieben and jury boss Heidi Klum. All people over the age of 18 are welcome, regardless of gender.
ProSieben entertainment boss Natalie Zizler said in a statement that GNTM had already had the clear message this year that every woman could take part. “Any age, any clothing size. Now it’s also: every gender. We look forward to the many applications from everyone who hasn’t had the opportunity to be there before.”
Heidi Klum has long wanted men at GNTM
Heidi Klum is already stirring the advertising drum for the 19th season, which seems to be under the motto “GNTM for everyone”. On her Instagram account she shared a video from an airplane. In it she explains to the flight attendant: “I don’t know if you’ve seen it before, but I have a show called ‘Germany’s Next Top Model’ and I’m doing men for the first time this year! And I’d like to cast you! If you had Desire?” The flight attendant agrees, and Klum happily announces, “My first male model.”
There have been discussions about this topic for years. In the American original, so-called male models have been allowed since 2012. Heidi Klum has repeatedly been open to male participants. Most recently, in an Instagram question and answer session in April, she said she didn’t mind. So now, with Season 19 airing next year, it’s being put into action.
The application round for the new season runs until the beginning of September. Application documents can be found at www.redseven.de/gntm19 be uploaded. There is only one restriction: Interested parties must be at least 18 years old.
