What happened?

During the video shoot, the candidates should demonstrate their acting talent. In groups of two, they have to compete in front of Heidi Klum and director David Helmut. It is shot in a convertible, in which the female passenger is catapulted into the air after an argument as if on an ejection seat. The task is best mastered by 66-year-old Lieselotte. Director Helmut is enthusiastic. “She should act, definitely. She has a very funny personality that you buy from her. She’s definitely someone I would cast. She has the right timing and a nice sense of humor. Not what you normally get into would expect given his age,” says the 35-year-old.

A reward awaits the best of the video shoot: they can have lunch with Heidi Klum in a Greek restaurant. Between meze, rolling grape leaves and reading coffee grounds, the candidates try to elicit career tips from Klum. She recommends: “The best models are those who move freely and have fun. You do too much mental cinema.” Does it help?

excitement of the week

Lenara doesn’t like it anymore. The 25-year-old from Lower Saxony leaves the show voluntarily. She cites homesickness and the bad mood that competitor Noella allegedly spreads as reasons. “Some people here want to win by any means possible. For me, that doesn’t have much to do with competition anymore. I have my boyfriend at home, whom I love more than anything. Why should I be sad here when I could be happy with him? ‘ Lenara sobbed. Heidi Klum only partially understands her decision: “You came here because you have a goal. You can’t let any girl take that goal away from you. I want you to go out here as a winner. Me want you to keep fighting.” But Lenara cannot be persuaded. Klum’s conclusion: “I think it’s a shame for you that you let yourself be subdued.”

The guest judge

As the “Golden Barbie”, model Jasmine Sanders has made a career, especially in the USA. The 30-year-old has worked for designers such as Ralph Lauren, Jeremy Scott and Philip Plein and has graced the covers of various magazines. In 2019, she was featured in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue, a magazine that also launched Heidi Klum’s career. Sanders particularly adores her. “I’ve looked up to Heidi my entire career. She’s one of the reasons I started modeling. To be able to work with Heidi is just incredible,” Sanders enthuses. In the final decision, together with Klum, she judges the performance of the models on the catwalk. This time it has it all: A floating pontoon was set up on the sea, to which the candidates are driven by jet ski.

who has to go

After Lenara left voluntarily, another candidate has to leave the show. The choice falls on Kashmira, who failed to impress either during the video shoot or on the catwalk. The 20-year-old has a hard time nibbling on the decision. “It’s been my dream since I was a little girl. It hits me hard that I can’t go on now,” says the student.

Klum saying of the week

“Pretty model, but those teeth. How do you get them down? It’s not mine.” (Heidi Klum about candidate Laura W., who wears a rhinestone on nine teeth)
