Ten candidates are allowed to shoot a video with Heidi Klum, the rest are left behind and fight over a banal object like a Polaroid camera. In episode three, the claws are extended.

What happened?
No GNTM season without Rankin: Of course, Heidi Klum’s favorite photographer should not be missing in the new episodes either. The Brit photographs the candidates for the “Germany’s next top model” poster campaign. Six models must pose in a group on a scaffold. For Rankin, the 68-year-old Barbara stands out in particular. “She is breathtakingly beautiful. I think she has the potential to be a winner,” he said. The top ten candidates from the photo shoot are allowed to take part in the commercial shoot, which Rankin is also responsible for. The opening credits for the new GNTM season are filmed on the beach in Mykonos – including the choreography rehearsed for the song by Snoop Dogg and Heidi Klum. The dance has now become a TikTok phenomenon. Klum’s older daughter Leni shows how it’s done.

The fact that candidate Sophie was selected for the video shoot is met with incomprehension by some competitors. After all, the 18-year-old received a lot of criticism from Heidi Klum and couldn’t walk safely either, according to Kristina, Vanessa and Lisa-Marie. The latter calls Sophie a “weak person”. There is also trouble when the models take pictures of each other and practice posing. The problem: only one Polaroid camera is available for 16 participants. Groups then argue about them or write down who uses them for how long. “I have a sore throat. It pisses me off. We only have ten minutes on the shoot too. It’s selfish and antisocial. It has a lot to do with maturity. Some have it and some don’t have it. But I’m not here, to educate people,” complains Jasmin, for example. And Anita announces: “The claws will be extended.”
The guest judges
In addition to Rankin, the British designer Christian Cowan is a guest. In his eye-catching creations, 16 candidates have to walk down a disco catwalk. On the catwalk, the 66-year-old Lieselotte delivers a rather average performance, but Cowan is still enthusiastic about the Berliner. “I love her, she’s wonderful,” says the 25-year-old, and Lieselotte is also blown away: “I’d like to adopt him.” And that despite the fact that Lieselotte hardly speaks English and doesn’t understand Cowan. A problem that 20-year-old Vanessa also has. When Cowan explains that he did a collection with rapper Lil Nas X and that a dress was worn by Heidi Klum, she doesn’t understand more than the two names. “The rapper probably didn’t wear the dress,” concludes Vanessa.

Kristina falls again on the catwalk. Heidi Klum knows no mercy and sends the 21-year-old home. Before that, she boasted: “I’m not embarrassed, it always happens to the best.” Lisa-Marie is also over in episode three. Klum’s verdict: she was simply “not interesting enough”.
