Time to party! The mayor of Paris presented its summer program: a
abundant agenda, at the same time cultural, sporting, festive and nature. With the recent release from confinement, the city of Paris considers it its duty to offer these activities, convinced that they meet a strong demand. “Parisians need to meet, as we see with the gatherings that take place in public space in an uncontrolled manner,” said Frédéric Hocquard, Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of tourism and nightlife.
JO atmosphere at the Trocadéro
Parisians and tourists will be able to watch the Olympic and Paralympic Games live at the Trocadéro, from July 23 to August 8 and from September 2 to 5. They will also be able to celebrate the return of the medal-winning French athletes from Tokyo, and attend the handover with the Paris Olympics by 2024. From August 16 to 18, in another register, the Trocadéro will be transformed into a giant skatepark, for an international competition where the greatest performers in the field will compete.
Party till the end of the night (now that we have the right)
The town hall wanted to open new places to Parisian nighttime festivities, reflections of an “inclusive metropolis”. Always in compliance with the sanitary measures in force, these places want to be diversified, like Km 25, literally underground. Located under the ring road next to Jardin 21 in the 19th arrondissement, this space will host numerous concerts, such as the Gare des Mines Station, at Porte d’Aubervilliers in the 20th arrondissement. Founded on a disused coal station, this place is considered by the municipality as “a convivial and festive laboratory devoted to emerging artistic scenes”.
Thehyperfestival, culture for all tastes all summer long
The town hall wishes to reinvigorate this sector which has suffered from the coronavirus crisis by offering it visibility. For this, 209 artists won the call for projects launched by the municipality, out of more than 800 applications. A completely free program for the public, 80 concerts and 120 performances of live shows in all the arrondissements of Paris.
In the 17th arrondissement, picnics will take place at Martin-Luther-King Park, with artistic workshops and DJ sets. For its part, the Art Azoï association will invest the Poste Immo building in the 10th arrondissement, to present the works of urban art of around forty artists over 2,000 m2, from July 1 to August 31.

Pedestrianization of the Bois de Vincennes
This is one of the projects led by Christophe Najdovski, Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of greening public spaces. Freshness and return to the sources with the pedestrianization of 30 hectares in the woods of Boulogne and Vincennes. In order to give back room to nature, but also spaces of serenity for the walk, 12 hectares of the Bois de Vincennes will remain reserved for pedestrians afterwards, around the Hippodrome de Vincennes.
