Germany debut in the Bayerischer Hof: Darrian Ford – Munich

His lively voice has been refreshing the American jazz scene for years – and soon also that of Europe? On Tuesday, May 16, Darrian Ford will be making his German debut at the Bayerischer Hof nightclub. In the new live program, the artist leads through “all the influences from his theatrical background and his musical heroes like Al Jarreau,” the organizers write.

Ford started out in the theater, he received the “Black Theater Alliance Award” for best musical actor, but ultimately dedicated himself to music with his tenor voice, which is remarkably rich in octaves. With “The Cooke Book” Ford even paid homage to one of his role models – Sam Cooke: he regularly tours North America successfully with the cover program; his first vocal jazz album “New Standards” also took first place in the jazz album debut charts. His European premiere has already taken him to Paris; in Munich he is accompanied by pianist Tizian Jost, drummer Michael Keul and Andreas Kurz on bass.
